Today we wrote our current event quiz. This marks the end of the Current Events unit.

I am happy to announce to you that Ms. Citton will be starting with you next week. She start by teaching a unit on the Regional Geography of North America. After we wrote the quiz today, we brainstormed "What makes up a region?" You came up with some really good ideas and defined it as an area that has similar characteristics. You stated that such characterisitics could include things like:
  • Climate
  • Vegetation
  • Topography (landforms)
  • Religions
  • Languages
  • Cultures
Theses were all excellent ideas!!! After the brainstorm, we had a little detective work and tried to put an envelop of pictures under the right regional heading. We made some mistakes along the way, but were able to do a fairly decet job at putting the pictures in the right spot!! Well done!!

I just found a link to a site that would be perfect for reviewing for this unit. Check out these flashcards:

Today was a review class. We went over the cell phone article questions. The quiz will be next class (Oct 5) and it is 20 marks (including TRUE and FALSE and MULTIPLE CHOICE).

Hint!! There will be a question on the number of people that will participate in the Rick Hansen Anniversary Relay.

We also played a game I like to call Talking Stick. We discussed a number of local, national, and global current events!
